A free 5 day course, based on the book.

This free 5-day crash course based on my book Kickstart Your Freelancing Career will immerse you in the basics of freelancing and lay the foundation for long-term success. You’ll discover if freelancing is right for you, how to make freelancing your primary income, attract your ideal clients, properly set your rate, and write winning proposals that get signed.

"For any designer folks interested in making the jump to freelancing, I can’t recommend Matt’s 5-day email course enough. 💯 "

"Wow! The 5 emails in Matt’s course were totally worth a read and lived up to my expectations."

Day 1: Is Freelancing Right for You?

You’ll learn about the pros and cons of part-time and full-time freelancing. Today is all about deciding which type of freelancing you should focus on based on where you’re at in your career and what your long-term goals are. Not everyone wants (or needs) to be a full-time freelancer.

Day 2: Make Freelancing Your Primary Income

If you do want to freelance full-time, you’ll need to know how to smoothly transition away from your current job. Don’t “make the leap” into full-time freelancing. Instead, build a bridge and cross it with confidence as you shift toward a new career path. I’ll show you specific ways you can make this happen.

Day 3: Identifying and Attracting Ideal Clients

Freelancers are nothing without clients. It’s critical that you have a steady stream of leads and inquiries hitting your inbox each month so you can sustain a successful career. Today you’ll learn how to identify who your ideal clients are and position yourself so that they can find you. It’s not about finding clients, but attracting them to your business.

Day 4: Properly Setting Your Rate

Once you’re getting new clients and projects, you have to figure out how much to charge them. Don’t limit your income by deriving an hourly rate from your old salary. Don’t just choose whatever the “market rate” is out of fearToday you’ll learn the difference between fixed prices, hourly rates, and value-based “price anchoring” and when to use each pricing method.

Day 5: Writing a Winning Proposal

Now that you’re pricing your services with confidence and getting steady project inquiries, you’ll need to know how to write a winning proposal that closes the deal. Today you’ll learn how to leverage 5 simple questions to qualify your leads and gather the information necessary to write a proposal that your clients can’t help but sign. That proposal will include multiple options and be void of any legal jargon, unlike a traditional contract.

Then what?

By the end of the course, one of two things will happen:

  1. You’ll be equipped and positioned to be a more successful freelancer
  2. You’ll learn that freelancing isn’t right for you and avoid the path to failure.

Either way, this course will be extremely valuable and you’ll be 5 big steps ahead of your competition. What are you waiting for?
