Your product, platform, tool, or system is fundamental to the success of your business. Whether it’s an internal software tool that empowers your employees to do their job effectively or the platform your users engage with on a daily basis, your product can help your business grow toward success or decline into failure.

That’s why these types of products require custom design – to guarantee the best possible experience for your target users and help you reach your business goals.

A strategically designed product can save your employees hours of time each week by making tasks more efficient, help your platform grow by engaging more users, or simplify tasks that make the users work easier and more intuitive.

If your business relies on a custom product, you’ll need a carefully planned and strategically designed solution to help meet your business goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are you defining a “product”?
A product can be internal proprietary software, a public-facing platform, a private user portal with dashboards and analytics, a tool for your constituents, or anything in between. You might sell your product to others or use it internally to help your business function. If it’s a proprietary solution your business has created, it probably falls into the “product” category. Marketing websites are not considered products, but most product-based projects often require a marketing website to be successful.

Aren’t mobile apps considered products?
Yes, but I have a special page dedicated to native apps and mobile websites. The types of projects I’m describing above are more commonly web-based software or tools that involve more than just a mobile app.

Do you do redesigns as well?
Yes! I actually love redesigning old products. If your product is outdated and in need of an overhaul, please contact me about your project!

Do you outsource any of these services?
Nope! I’m able to deliver all of the services above on my own. That means you’ll only need to hire one person eliminating the risk of miscommunication, errors, and delays.

Can you code your designs?
Yes! I’m extremely proficient with HTML/CSS/JS. I’ll be able to code your product and make entirely interactive so that your back-end developers can simply feed content from the database into the front end of the page.

What’s the benefit of having you code your designs?
I write excellent code (verified by many developers), but even more importantly this step ensures that my designs are implemented perfectly. If I can code the HTML & CSS for my designs, your users will be seeing exactly what I created in both form and function. It also gives your development team a head start by having them focus on the back-end architecture while I code the front-end. By the time we’re ready for integration, all the pieces are in place and ready for showtime.

Will you code a existing designs?
I prefer not to code designs that aren’t my own, but if the quality meets my expectations, I’d consider coding them for you. Contact me for more details!

Do you offer ongoing support or maintenance?
I offer 30 days of support from the day your website launches to fix errors, bugs, site crashes, etc. However, my goal for every marketing website project is to put the power in your hands. You’ll have full control over editing the content. After the 30 days has passed, I treat new updates and feature requests as new projects subject to a new timeline and pricing schedule.

Is every product you build mobile-friendly?
Not every product I design or code is automatically created to be mobile-friendly or “responsive”. Products are especially expensive to make mobile friendly and in many cases it doesn’t make sense to offer the entire product on a mobile device. That’s why it’s important to discuss a mobile strategy upfront to determine which features and functionality to offer a user on a small screen.

What if I don’t need a full redesign?
Complete products redesigns aren’t always necessary. Sometimes you’ll just need a new module created or you’ll want to roll out a new design in phases for budget and development reasons. If you need strategic guidance on how to improve your existing product, I’d love to hear about your project so I can determine if we’d be a good fit to work together.

Will I own all the project source files?
Yes! You will have full access to everything I create along with all usage rights. That includes design, development, copywriting, etc.

Matt worked as an extension of our team and in partnership with us to meet our goals. His ability to understand the complexity of the project and translate that into a simplified look and feel for the website was very exciting. He listened, translated and collaborated in a way that was very consistent with our culture. We appreciated his ability to walk the line between smart design and client preference.
